Câu chủ ngữ giả là một cấu trúc câu có thể sử dụng trong Ielts writing và speaking để ghi điểm.
Trong tiếng Anh, đôi khi cần sử dụng một chủ ngữ giả trong câu mà không có chủ ngữ đi cùng với động từ, hay khi chủ ngữ của nó lại không đặt đúng vị trí thông thường trong câu/mệnh đề.
“It” và “there” là hai chủ ngữ giả thường được sử dụng.

“There” được sử dụng làm chủ ngữ giả với “There is” hoặc “There are“. Chúng nêu lên sự tồn tại của con người hoặc sự vật, hoặc nói về chúng trong một trường hợp hoặc địa điểm cụ thể.

Lưu ý:
1. Chủ ngữ giả chỉ nên được sử dụng trong trường hợp:
+ Không biết rõ ai là người gây nên hành động
+ Nhấn mạnh hành động trong câu
2. Nếu bạn không thực sự vững về cách dùng chủ ngữ giả trong writing, vẫn còn nhiều cách viết khác mà bạn có thể áp dụng cho câu văn mượt mà.
