Trong phần thi Speaking các bạn có thể sẽ được hỏi về bất kỳ một chủ đề nào. Nó có thể là chủ đề mà có vẻ đòi hỏi kiến thức như điểm tốt xấu của kỹ thuật di truyền, năng lượng nguyên tử, hay áp dụng vấn đề môi trường toàn cầu….hay là sự ảnh hưởng của văn hóa đến vấn đề chăm sóc người cao tuổi…
Cho dù là bạn thi Academic hay Genral thì các chủ đề câu hỏi speaking vẫn rất rộng như vậy. Do đó, khi ôn luyện bạn nên học thật nhiều các chủ đề, mở rộng kho từ vựng, kiến thức của bạn, và bạn sẽ không bị bỡ ngỡ đối với bất kỳ một câu hỏi nào khi thi.

Trong thi speaking, mỗi thí sinh sẽ được hỏi 3 phần

– Một vài câu hỏi đơn giản, ngắn gọn
– Cue card: thí sinh sẽ được cung cấp một chủ đề để nói
– Discussion: hỏi đáp mở rộng giữa examiner và thí sinh về chủ đề trên

Describe a subject you were not interested in at school, that you would like to learn now. Please say

– What would you suggest to improve the school system?

– Would you recommend it to others?

– What types of books do children read in your country?
– How can we promote reading to children?
– What are the reasons adults are reading?
– What is the effect of technology on reading?
– Can you compare reading with watching TV?

3. Talk about an achievement you haven’t completed yet. Please say
– What is the achievement?
– How will you do it?
– When do you think you will achieve this?

– What song do you remember from your childhood?
– What is your favorite music? Why?
– What do you listen to these days?

4. Talk about some news you heard that made you happy. Please say

– What was the news?
– How did you hear about it?
– Where and when did it happen?
– Why did you feel happy after hearing it?

5. Describe a prize that you would like to win. Please say

– What is the prize?
– How would you be notified?
– What would you do in order to win it?

Talk about an unforgettable moment you spent with a group of people. Please say

– What was the occasion?
– When and where was it?
– Why was it so unforgettable?

– Should children go to kindergarten or stay at home during their early years?
– Do you agree that there should be competition at the work place? Why?
– Do you think boys and girls can play together?
– What do you think about a leader in a group of people?
– What qualities does he/she need to possess?

6. Describe a good habit that your friend has, and that you would like to develop too. Please say

– Who is you friend?
– What habit is it?
– Why do you want to develop it?

– Do you think people should develop good habits when they are young?
– Can children develop their habits? How?
– Can a good habit that someone had as a child disappear when they grow up? Why?
– What kind of effect can good childhood habits have on an adult?

7. Talk about something you don’t know yet, but would like to learn. Please say

– How are you going to achieve it?

– Do you think it would be helpful to you? Why?

– How can parents and teachers contribute more to learning of a child?

8. Describe an indoor game that you enjoy playing in your free time. Please say

9. Talk about a film that you have watched and did not like. Please say

10. Describe a place that you have visited far away from home. Please say

– What mode of travel do you prefer? Why?
– What are the advantages of travelling by air?
– Do you think air travel is becoming globalised?
– Do you think airlines are managing the gas emissions correctly?
– Do you think that passengers would be willing to pay more for travel to fund a way to reduce these emissions properly?
